The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), together with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), Ascend International Gateway, Inc., and Republic of Korea’s (ROK) Perigee Aerospace, Inc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on a framework for rocket development training and experimental rocket launches in the Philippines. These initiatives will demonstrate the viability of the establishment and operation of a Philippine spaceport, with the goal of positioning the country as a gateway to space in the region.

Last month saw the Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation, together with its pool of co-presenters, held the first UD Trucks Bike Race Challenge at Alabang, Mutinlupa City. The event saw over a thousand bikers exhibiting the Going the Extra Mile Attitude as the accepted the challenge and survived the heat and race pressure en route to victory.

Author's note: Aside from much-hyped Sa Wakas, the start of 2017 will be bombarded by a lot of theater productions – both originals and revivals. That being said, here's one production that will be restaging this weekend at the Emilio Aguinaldo College – the musical that was primarily meant to be a spoof spin-off to one of the greatest works of Hans Christian Andersen. 

Steven Conde, the director behind some of the critically-acclaimed plays, will be directing this upcoming production and singer-actress Carla Guevarra-Laforteza will be one of the headliners.
