Playback: Rockin1000 – Learn To Fly (Foo Fighters)

07/31/2015 01:27:16 PM

Say, how do you persuade an international musical performer—be it a solo diva or singer, or a group of rockstars—to come to your home country and perform for a night of festivity?

How about orchestrating a huge—and I mean HUGE—orchestra or rock bands? Just like what ROCKIN1000 did on Italy.

Paskil

07/29/2015 11:24:44 AM

Ano ang meron sa litratong ito?

Malamang, sidewalk. Malamang, maraming tao; at malamang, marami ring sasakyan.

Pero, ang mensahe? Malamang.

Lakasan ang Tunog!

07/29/2015 12:13:53 PM

Dissing the Pointless Diss

7/26/2015 5:55:33 PM

Finale

Kahapon ay ang State of the Nation Address.

Upcoming: SiKuna

Here’s something to kickstart August as the Philippines’ National Language Month, a collaboration of different art forms that will surely give you a refreshing—and reawakening taste to the culture of our country, and this is called The SiKuna Festival.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Battleground 2015

Well, things are about to take a swerve as SummerSlam approaches. But before we head to a season switch, we got a warfare called Battleground, where some of the feuds had some sort of very long-but-almost forgettable beginnings.

Brawls for the Guys With Balls

07/23/2015 09:00:57 AM

There's nothing more awesome than what happened last Monday night on WWE's flagship program Raw. It reminds me of an old Scott Hall remark in WCW: “You want war? You're gonna get one!”

And indeed, every single member of the WWE Universe was treated for al all-out brawl between Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker.

Sudden Swerve

Nobody saw it coming. Not even a lot of smarks. And if there are few, maybe we're talking about those legit and religious wrestling observers here.

Playback: Assembly Generals – Kontrabida

7/18/2015 9:01:05 PM

Screengrab from the official music video on YouTube

I first heard their name on SoundCloud and Amplify.PH. And upon looking for more details, I noticed two notable members: first, their drummer was already a modern-day legend in the local music scene, and another is a vocalist of those rocker girls called Flying Ipis.

Out of Tune

7/15/2015 10:54:08 PM

Oo, may K ka man talaga pag-awit o wala, ganun talaga.

The Homecomer's Ascension

I must say, Kevin Owens has picked the wrong battle this time. And a “devil’s homecoming” may sound appalling to the typical person; if you are not even a casual wrestling fan.

I haven’t seen the entirety of the WWE’s Japan special show called Beast in the East. And the only thing which caught my interest is the battle for the NXT championship.

Awat Na!

For motherfucking sakes, spare the kid from this scandalous issue!

The #FeteIndie2015 Experience

07/01/2015 08:24:33 AM

All my life I have been wanting to watch a big-time music-related event called Fête dela Musique. Originally known as festivity in Paris in 1982, the Fête—or World Music Day—has made its way to other parts of the globe, including the Philippines in 1994.

And now, on its 21st year, Fête dela Musique is still called by many as one of the “go-to” gatherings in the music industry. No wonder, and no doubt about it since a lot of musicians in different genres used to swing by to perform sets of their tunes in front of hundreds—and even thousands—of attendants inside the venue.

I could even remember that the FDLM once had Ortigas as its stage.

Well, fast-forward to 2015. Fête dela Musique were staged at 21 venues—including the concluding main stage in Intramuros, City of Manila. The rest, though, were situated at Makati City, where Greenbelt 5 and A-Venue housed the fete's two main stage; while the rest are pocket stages offering different genres and various lineups.
