Sounds like a rematch, eh?

Well that’s gonna happen if Miami can win on either game 5 or 6.

After all, they want different teams colliding in the finals. It has been the main rivalry (Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers) that they had been seeing for 2 of the past 3 years, with Orlando Magic spoiling the green team and even the most spotlighted LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers in 2009. But it will come down in this year’s finale. Another face-off that first clashed in 2006, then will be facing off against each other again.

Dallas Mavericks appeared to be almost over the hump that they are been struggling with. If you remember what the hell happened in the 2006 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks, it was Dallas up 2-0 by defeating them 10 points apiece. When the series shifted to the South Florida Beach, Miami had sparked its run while the Mavs were on the verge on claiming game 3 on their hands. Too good to be true, Miami had staggered a big run to win that and the next game, costing the momentum that Dallas had been carrying on, considering that time had been making 4-point plays just to grab that title. Dwayne Wade had something in mind then, so was Shaquille O’Neal. And moreover, Gary Payton had sparked contributions either despite having an issue with Dwayne Wade earlier. Come game 5, and Dallas had its chance slipped away when Josh Howard, by accident or not, had called the team’s last timeout in between the free-throw shooting situation by their opponent. That cost them a lot, considering that inbounds play for the last two minutes will be a better chance to get back in the game. Miami had won the tile though after winning 4 straight games against Dallas. And wade was the MVP of the series. But this triggered the misfortunes that both teams had suffered.

After ’06 finals, Miami Heat’s first regular season game triggered the breakdown, They had been defeated by he Chicago Bulls. 108-66 was the score, and this was a league-record since a team had defeated the Los Angeles Lakers by 15 way back in 1980s. Since then, they had slowed down by injuries, both by O’Neal and The Flash, and the other goes as well such as the veteran Gary Payton whom were forced to retire then after injuring himself in one of the contests. Trades had been executed, sending Shaq to Phoenix in exchange for the Shawn Marion. Well, things didn’t worked out much either. I can’t recall much news on this team until 2009 when Jermaine O’Neal (no relation to Shaq) had been piloted the team in the middle in exchange for the 6’7” forward known as the Matrix. Well, the experiment had been performing well but failed in the first round against Atlanta Hawks. The next time around, they made it to the playoffs and they were defeated by the Celtics in easy 5 games.

This year, they had been banking on the major renovation of their roster, with LeBron James and Chris Bosh, former franchise plates of their respective teams (Cavs and the Tornot Raptors) and Erik Sploestra on his 3rd season as head coach. They went on to win 58 games, the second in the eastern conference.

And the road throughout then, they had dumped the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics on the first two rounds and each in 5 games, with the clincher eventually emerged victorious at home. Apparently oddsmaker had picked out Boston to trash out Miami considering the solid lineup that the Beantown Celtics had over the Heat, and that’s aside from winning most of their match-ups in the regular season 3-1. However on the lone Heat victory, the Celts had changes on their lineup either.

Next, the Eastern Finals Chicago Bulls, which appears to be on the verge of making an unthinkable recovering on a 3-1 deficit. Derrick Rose was named as the MVP for this season, but his team had fallen out behind by almost 10 points per game in their last 3 contests. This came out after their hustle plays resulted into a 23-point blowout victory in favor of them. Should Chicago win game 5, Heat should better watched out for game 6 as the last time that a team had won in the conference finals facing a commanding deficit was the eventual champion Boston Celtics in 1981. They faced Philadelphia and were badly beaten out after game 4 of the series that putted the Sixers to a commanding 3-1 lead. The Celtics however, over-turned everything as they won the next and last 3 games of the series, with Game 7 an epic one at Philadelphia. Ironically, these are the two teams that Miami had beaten out.

Okay, let’s move to the west coast, Dallas Mavericks appeared to be on the right track, having numerous double-digit winning streaks and went on to a 67-15 record in 2007. But they faced the team that had been emerged victorious against them after four contests in the regular season (3-1), the then-revamped Golden State Warriors. Led by the veteran playmaker Baron Davis and the emerging Monta Ellis, the Warriors had answered every point by the Mavs, to the extent that the former defeated the latter in a very big upset fashion. For three of its six games, only one victory was made by Golden State. However that factor was enough to crash them out as the series had shifted to Oakland, the Warriors had been winning then, thanks to their personnel’s energy and the fans. Next thing, they were defeated on the first round of the playoffs every year then. This resulted to critics claiming that Dallas was a perennial choker in the post-season party regardless having a lot of talents on their roster such as Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry and the recruited ones such as Jason Kidd, Caron Butler, Shawn Marion and Brendan Haywood. This year turned out to be very different though.
Acquiring Tyson Chandler and Peja Stojakovic during the 82 game season, the team had been going under the radar, and they have the #4 seed in the western conference. But since the playoffs was the real show for every basketball fan, dallas then unleashed their force, defeating the Portland Trail Blazers in their 5th and 6th games of the first round, and an incredible sweep to the three-peat seeking Los Angeles Lakers, a series where the defending champs had expressed frustrations resulting into flagrant fouls and ejections to Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, and Ron Artest. Their star player Kobe Bryant’s injury may have been a factor why they had lost such. However it was also a reminder for coach Phil Jackson that maybe it’s time to go. He had been the main mentor for 11 championships for the past 20 years – 6 by Chicago Bulls and 5 by his last team, the Lakers. And game 6 was a brutal massacre for them as Dallas have made 20 3-point shots, led by the “Jet” Jason Terry whom had nailed 9 out 10 from rainbow country for his 32 points. And no to mention, JJ Barea had been a victim of flagrant fouls by the 3 Lakers.

But the western finals were a different story and the Mavericks had shown no rust had been on them while watching the other teams on a week. Dirk Nowtzki was the star of the show for 48 points and making 24 free throws in its 24 attempts throughout the contest. Their opponent Oklahom City thunder had took Game 2 though, but Games 3 to 5 were all Mavs with 3 and 4 taking out the Thunder’s home court advantage and clinching it out in the 5th clash.

Both teams were a playoff surprises in 2006. And they had done and been doing that gain in this year. The question is, will it be a sweet revenge for Dallas or a sweet first ring for LeBron and Bosh? That will be happening though if Miami clinches out Game 5 tomorrow. However, I’ll break things down should they face each other again.

Dallas had a lot of depth in players, while Miami had been expanding even with Eddie House and Mike Bibby providing long-range firepower and help down the stretch. Actually, Miami has a deeper bench of their own but you have to give credit to the Mavericks for helping out Dirk inside and out. And to ask who’s hungrier will depend on how Jason Kidd handling the ball and how LeBron James had been creating plays. A lot of players were the first times in this contest and only Wade and Dirk were perhaps one of the few people remaining to be matching up against each other again in the second clash.

How will Dallas clinch the title? Just do the things they had been during the time that they defeated Miami on their 2 contests earlier and the ones they had done in the playoffs. Make Kidd and Dirk work on offense, while Terry can also be a key factor on clutch shots, It’s also a battle of the depth, with Brendan Haywood pioneering the second unit it can provide defense, rebounding and inside power, while Peja and JJ Barea can hit shots from the outside so as Caron Butler.

For the Miami Heat, they have to go on the hustle. On some of their games, they were out-rebounded, and it’s good that Udonis Haslem had shrugged off any signs of slowing down. Offensive wise I don’t think they have a lot of problem much expect on Joel Anthony unless he scored significant numbers, Mike Miller providing help in the clutch so was Bibby hitting shots on the break and Chalmers shooting over their opponents.

My prediction? It’s either Miami by 6 or Dallas by 5.

Apparently, Miami Heat won Game 5 to tune of 83-80, a comeback from a double-digit deficit in the 4th quarter. James had shown his clutch skills like the way he had done when he was still with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Regular-season-wise, Mavericks owns the Heat in their two regular meetings, winning 106-95 at Dallas and 98-96 at Miami.

These two teams had proven out that playoffs were way different than the regular wars. It shows as Miami defeated their heavily rivals Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls, whom both teams had 3 wins apiece over the Heat in their combined 7 meetings. As for the Dallas Mavericks, they were picked as the underdogs for this playoffs once they made to the second round when they faced the then-defending champion Los Angeles Lakers until unpredictably they swept them out.

Now, we’re facing a real different ball game. Coming on ya within the next 2 days!

I’ve been seeing a lot of articles over the papers and at world wide web regarding one of the current issues here in the country: The Reproductive Health Bill.

Nah, to be honest, I’m not in a position to made a comment much on it. However I can’t help but to get an act on such since I’ve been hearing news on it for most of the time. Look at this health bill that perhaps should have been passed on earlier if it wasn’t for too much politics and if another party would not threaten the legislators and citizens as well. As the debates go on air to congress and to the television stations as well, The Catholic Church had one thing. This bill may promote artificial family planning such as using of contraceptives, something that in their eyes was been very unacceptable considering the Church as the one of the pro-life groups here in the country.

This bill apparently had been in the limelight already aside from the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines’ answers. Tourist guide Carlos Celdran, a true-blooded RH advocate had come to the extent that he protested in side a church, with sporting a Fr. Damaso costume and with that Damaso word in his slogan. He has been against religion extremism, but I don’t think that can’t be a good idea to make a protest. President Benigno Aquino III had expressed his support for the bill. However, the Church had also said that P-Noy is a bad catholic, unlike her mother whom was a former president and a (should I say yellow-blooded?) somehow religious icon to the others. And just recently, Manny Pacquiao a.k.a. the fighting congressman had expressed his side on the issue of the RH bill, saying that it should not be passed with CBCP supporting his decision. On the other hand, Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago had told the former to back off and just talk about boxing. And Pacman’s mom lashed out words against the latter, well that is something that is shouldn’t been given much attention anyway.

My take for the matter (since I have wrote this anyway) will be I guess, it should be passed. The RH bill should be passed, implemented and be a law. I didn’t make this decision because of some number of responses at my Formspring account had told me that “yes” but for me after hearing arguments for the matter, reading news articles regarding it and after learning a lot from it, I realized that making a better family can be one of our only choices we can do in our lives. The more children that we have, the more we are prone to poverty. If we’re in our early 20s suffered how hard it is to have a source of living, what more if you married your spouse and make offspring or two? (Exclude me in the marriage anyway) and for instances, every constituent should learn and how to be educated on how responsible they should be. Over the past few years, Manila appears to be over populated but it’s because of the fact that many under-privileged habitants had flew by from the provinces just to have a mindset (or stigma either) that city life could provide them better. However, this resulted to skyrocketing rates of rural people living in the metro. It’s not just all about our life-giving organs, but more on responsibility and for the betterment of everyone. But if this one’s is passed, it doesn’t mean that we’re on the right track, there will always have conflicts. And if you really loved your country, get into act. Speak up, and watch for everything. But after all, it will boil down to man and woman’s choice on how they want to live. I mean if they want to have a lot of children, that’s fine. It’s their right anyway. I’d rather support this bill rather than China’s 2-child policy.

Derrick Rose was named the Most Valuable Player of the National Basketball Association for the 2010-2011 season. Also, he was also listed at the All-NBA team for the first time, and joining the unanimous choice for the squad, LeBron James. He has been a factor why the Chicago Bulls had overtaken the San Antonio Spurs for the league’s best record at 62 wins and 20 losses. Look at those stats though they are not as insane as those others 25.0 points and 7.7 assists to go along with 4.1 rebounds, man! All are team highs and eh was also the only player to be part of the top 10 in scoring (7th) and assists (10th). Also, the youngest guy to win it all by the age of 22.

I can only say is this guy is already at the highest level and he can even surpass the other present legends whom are still competing for the career ranks. Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Paul Pierce, Dirk Nowitzki you name them. And so far, his team is at the eastern Conference Finals. However there is something that I have observed for over the past 8 years (including this year). No one, I mean no one had won the championship despite having its star player winning the most valuable player? You want example? Kevin Garnett. Minnesota was on its best time until Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal’s Lakers had stopped them out in the Western Conference Finals. More? Steve Nash. 2 MVP awards in 2005 and 2006, and his squad had made it to the Western Conference Finals and came up short against eventual Western Champs San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks, respectively. Want another? Dirk Nowitzki. He was named the MVP for his Dallas Mavericks squad that won 67 of its 82 games, but lost 4 of its 6 playoff contests in an upset by Golden State Warriors. At first, I was wondering why did he won the award. But I just realized that after all, they may be only good in regular season for that time and it’s better to give credit to Dirkman for leading them. Another one: Kobe Bryant. It was the time where Bryant had gone to a Cinderella story to the extent that his team came up short against eventual champion Boston Celtics. Last on the list: LeBron James. He had won the award twice for leading the Cleveland Cavaliers for the best team record in the league. However the first one, he ran short against eventual Eastern Conference champion Orlando Magic in 2009 and the second one against even eventual East champs Boston Celtics, in the semifinals of the 2010 playoffs. Therefore I conclude, that sine 2004, no team in NBA whom had a regular-season MVP player for that season had won a championship. That’s why finals MVP exist, anyway. But 1 had made it to the big stage, and 6 of them had at least made it to the conference finals. So, why the hell did I observe and told you that? Simple. Because basketball is a team sport and individual greats may stand out for their team’s success, but it doesn’t guarantee you a championship unless you’re the last team standing come June. So, for Derrick Rose, I hope you can break the jinx out of it. Good luck!

Comparing past to present times of radio, perhaps there had been a lot of differences in between these time periods. And it shows if you ask a lot of people whom were barely young in the 90s than to now. Technology may be an advantage on the present times, sure social media exists and digitalization of transmission in radio signals creates wider reach and number of possible patrons, but for these guys, it doesn’t matter as a lot of personnel who speaks on the microphone weren’t much discriminating as long as you have a good voice, or if you don’t have that good one at least you can do well by modulating it. And most people that didn’t have a high profile background were the pioneer ones whom made it unlike the present where one must belong to. You’re lucky if you are a DJ that came out of your personal aspirations, talents and capabilities, despite not having a pleasant personality. But most of them nowadays have the latter despite having an irritated voice. And many people have noticed these, FM radio plays more beautiful songs than the present, they have less gimmicks compared to nowadays where a movie screening is sponsored. However it boils to one thing, the only thing constant is change. So with means as time goes by, there will be definitely changes that should work and be eventually embraced in a long run. So making a success in this competition of medium will still be barely a long process to handle and patience is a must virtue.

If you are a fan of those old great Manila radio stations in the 90s and 2000s like, Radio Romance, 89.1 DMZ, City Lite 88.3, 923 Joey, 93.9 KCFM, the pop legend 97.1 Campus Radio WLS FM, and its rocker counterpart NU 107, Kool 106 is also counted, and even to the present ones whom I can’t mention all of them’ perhaps you have been wondering what ever happened to them? Why the changed formats? Is still the music and personalities that I hooked up them did still exist in this frequency? I can’t answer them all though this one is just my opinion and observation since I am a born in the 90s with radio all over my left and right ear (where else?) and had been listening to the radio for like one and a half decade.

89.1 DMZ, a former dance radio station owned by Intercontinental Broadcasting Corp. (IBC) who also owns government –TV station IBC 13, and where “The Mouth” late Francis Magalona and Angelo Macanaya, a.k.a. DJ M.O.D. (Master of Disaster) had their respective stints. By the turn of the decade, DMZ was reformatted to a radio station which plays Rhythm and Blues (RnB) genre for most of its time. Thus, Wave 891 (or formerly Wave 89.1) was born. Quest Broadcasting bought the station from IBC though the station’s transmitter still remains at its former quarter then. Mr. Love Notes Joe D’ Mango was then the head of Wave. Up to now, it lives to its name sake, and it caters to people whom loves the RnB, and Hip Hop genre.

Radio Romance, owned by ABS-CBN, whom also produced the movie of the same title way back 90s, was later reformatted to WRR 101.9 with the slogan “For Life.” This tagline didn’t only exist to Manila, but also to the M.O.R. (My Only Radio) Stations nationwide (and believe me, its Baguio City counterpart was very strong to the extent that its signal reception can even reach as far as Guiginto, Bulacan in the south. Man, how do you like that?) okay, let’s get back to WRR. It had a huge success, considering many names like Martin D, Laila Chikadora, China Heart, etc were recognized by listeners, including that all-request program Request Express which airs for lunch time (11 am-1 pm.) however as time goes by, so does the level of success of the radio station. They had gone reformatted to Tambayan 101.9 San Ka Pa? almost one and a half-decade later.

City Lite 88.3, similar to Crossover 105.1 was playing jazz for most of the time, and caters to mostly on the upper class people whom really loves jazz music. It had went to Jam 88.3, owned and operated by Raven Broadcasting during the turn of the millennium. And it plays most of acoustic and alternative songs.

92.3 Joey, another dance and jazz stations, with some classic tunes on its side dishes, had been busy on the events. It was later changed for some time until TV5 bought the station from NBC and a new format was introduced, just similar to those AM band. Introduced by News5’s Martin Andanar, Radyo5 92.3 News FM was born by late last year. And during the course of establishing Aksyon TV, they changed programming and give way for the said TV channel to air its shows, just similar to RH Tv and the one who started it all on AM, DZMM Teleradyo.

93.9 KC FM was also one of the best pop stations in the 90s, located between its main competitor Monster Radio RX 93.1 and Mellow Touch 94.7. However when Radio Mindanao Network(RMN) changed and 93.9 iFM was established, it took them some time to regain its popularity, perhaps even before Kuya Jobert went on-air they were already at the level of one of the popular masa-type radio stations in Mega Manila. And they also introduced the digital type of transmitting radio signals, thus having a clear sound that pleases almost everyone who listens to it.

Campus Radio 97.1 WLS Fm was one of the stations I had been listening to ever since I became a radio lover. All Pop Music, information in-between, and the disc jockeys, you named them. They even had a TV plug way back then as the station was owned and operated by Global Media Arts (GMA-7) and most notable programs were perhaps Top 20 @ 12, hosted by the Triggerman which airs daily at 12 noon. Its daily countdown lasts for an hour every day and its weekly counterpart airs every Sunday for 12nn – 2 pm, over the course of it classic-music programming. However, many students were disappointed when they changed its format to Barangay LS. Perhaps they were the primary audience of the said station. It took them some time to gain recognition either. They have been the counterpart for every Pacquiao fight airing on its AM sister station, Super Radyo DZBB 594. And what’s more is perhaps the Wanted Sweetheart program airing by nighttime with Papa Dan as the main honcho.

And recently, I know if you live in the late 80s, you know what is the home of new rock, right? Quark Henares, Francis Brew Reyes, Myreme Academia, Dylan, HalikNU, Remote Control Weekend, the yearly NU rock awards, and okay, now does that sounds even familiar to you, huh? NU 107, then owned and operated by Progressive Broadcating aired for like more than 2 decades old. Over the course, they played all rock music but during the course of time, some fans didn’t became fans of them anymore. What I mean? Sure they dig rock music, but few opted to changed the frequency as time to time it’s not the pure rock music (or even the underground ones) anymore that they played for. Perhaps that’s because rock becames more flexible. Even Francis Magalona, ahd rock rhythm on his rap songs if only you try to notice. But I’m telling you one thing. They don’t have many gimmicks and still they’re capable of having more audiences listening to them. That is the good side of that old radio days. New personalities came and gone later on to their respective careers and you have to love the legacy of NU then. That’s why many people whom were mostly rockers and fans of the said FM station mourned out the very last night of airing of the home of new rock, to the extent that some radio personalities from other media including Magic 89.9’s Tony Toni drop by to give its props to the station for bringing great music to the world of rockers around the Metro. They officially went off-air by midnight of Monday, November 8, 2010 after it played its usual signing off ID and Eraserhead’s Ang Huling El Bimbo. They were off-air for a day to give way to the new station occupying the frequency. Win Radio. A lot of people had gone dismayed. However that didn’t stop Win Radio as their stickers had been seen on a lot of public jeepneys or even at market stands as its support to the new radio station. It also caters to the mass audience. And they had the same case like Campus Radio. Win Radio also owned by the station that owns 91.5 Energy FM.

I have no idea what’s the difference between Kool 106 and Dream FM though I know one thing is for sure enough: they were owned by Associate Broadcasting Company whom also owns then-ABC 5 (now TV5) and also, 92.3 News FM.

Another thing. 103.5, K-Lite aired for 9 years giving Metro Manila the best alternative, and you heard Vitto Lazatin there. Then after 9 years, it had gone to Heart, then later to Maxx. And Maxx Fm carried the old style fo programming the Magic 89.9 had (tunog Kalye, the Early Returns The Final Countdown) and some of the former Magic jocks like King Dj Logan, The Sarge, etc.) then it went out to dance format. Until it reformatted to Wow FM, bringing in Mr. FU (formerly of 91.5 Energy FM), also owend by uest Broadcasting, having a 2 different type of business media alongside Magic 89.9

Some radio stations had gone changing over the course. Try to notice it in their programming. Like at Wave’s. From 89.1 they were now recognized by just 891. Dream sounds still exists, though the KC show had moved form 92.3 to them after U92 had eventually went off and gone to News FM. Yes FM still plays the same, and same goes with 90.7 Love Radio, 91.5 Energy FM, 97.9 Home Radio, 99.5 RT (whom had went into Hit Fm and Campus Radio before returning to its original namesake) and Star FM. They ahd just changed its tagline for the matter of business and advertising.
Magic 89.9 had also been there, though they still play pop music. It’s because careers between its personnel had been always sin this type of process. They come and later, they go. And they had been more hip and cool as Campus Patrollers was later named as the Junior Jocks. Still the same description: The official student dj program of that radio station. Same applies to other types like RX whom has Radio One, etc.
The only difference is as time goes by, radio had gone to another level where DJs had eventual turned out as the next batch of TV personalities (yes, it goes flexible). For example, Mo Twister, a teener in the 90s whom also had the same occupation as a DJ and a TV host. Another one, Grace Lee, from being Mo’s one of the partners in Good Times, now became one of the hosts at GMA-7. Same goes to Samir Gogna (or Sam Sausage, then Sam YG). He had been a campus patroller then moved to RT and then back to Magic and gained recognition even as one of the candidates for Candy Cutie of Summit Media’s Candy Magazine. He was then hitting Eat Bulaga and Diz Is It. Boom Gonzalez is another perfect example, ever since his days at RX 93.1 he had ben a sportscaster at ABS-CBN sports, covering UAAP games. Mia Bayuga and Anthony James Bueno is another addition. Mia hosts for a TV show at Balls Channel while Tony Toni’s for Where’s Tony airing at Studio 23. and who will forget the duo of radio goddesses Andrea Martin Manzano and Jessica Mendoza? Andi9 had been former partner of Mo in his radio show and now the host for fromer early returns countdown shift which was now, Top 5 @ 5. Jessica joined her after following the footsteps of Lia Cruz at the courtside reporter of Ateneo De Manila University. And apparently, Manzano is also one of the present hosts of GMA-7’s Party Pilipinas and was also a model. Aaron Atayde was also host of Quick-E on Studio 23 and for the Strike Zone (whom named after his air name Josh Strike).
Too many to notice, huh? How about the RX 93.1’s Morning Rush’s duo of hosts Chico Garcia and Delamar? They also are columnists for Manila Bulletin. Kuya Jobert of iFM’s had been with Usapang Lalake on Studio 23. Nicole Hiyala and Chris Tsuper of 90.7 Love Radio had been on some event hosting gigs airing on TV, and commercial models, too. And most popular of them all: Papa Jack. From all-music type of medium, 90.7 had turned out to be somewhat to an even popular one, with talk programs in the morning and night shift. Thanks to these 3 guys. Their humor and advice had brought out listeners hooking up for them for a combined 7 hours (8-10 a.m. and 9 p.m.-2 a.m.)

Now, a finally have to conclude this. After a very long rundown. Here’s why this one may not your favorite radio station anymore. MEDIA is BUSINESS. It means, they present something to us and if we patronize such, it means money for their part. It may be not on our part like we’re paying our cable bills, or products that they sold. But it will be by all means of advertising, the lifeblood of every media organization. For them having a lot of advertisers means success on their business, which means that they have a big number of patrons, higher ratings and a much wider content, ‘cause in this stiff competition you have to leave at least no room for small types of improvement. If you have to improve you have to go big time at it will come by a process. And that includes, changing formats, taglines, programming, etc. so at least when you hit by a radio station, you have to know what type of music you are hooking up to, (jokes, other information and hosts may be included) and most of them you have to feel satisfied with it. After all, audience dictates media nowadays. Needs aren’t much existing, it’s more of their wants (but needs should still be there no matter what.) and if you media business heads out there are trying to be a help to the people, feed them right and try to balance things up with profit.
(Anyone or anything that I missed in this entry, I’ll apologize for that. But better yet if you’re studying business and magament related to communications and media, do your research ‘because this is just a result of my observation whether by objective or subjective matters. p.s. Dream FM had signed off and Energy Fm occupied their frequency. It appears that they're like a certain block-timer on that slot. While 91.5 apparently was now owned by the company that previously owned NU107. They labeled that as Big Radio with its credits to the man that made Win radio, Manny Luzon. Anyway, Internet Radio seems to emerge. However, I'll discuss that soon.

It is official. Game date is November 12, 2011, a Saturday night at Las Vegas, Nevada. How you wish Floyd Mayweather will be around, right? Nah, I’m not talking about him but the possible trilogy that everyone was craving for. Yes, it’s Manny Pacquiao going up for the 3rd and possibly last time against Juan Manuel Marquez. So, Floyd’s fans, better shut up, okay? Pacman’s got a better opponent than the shit in your coward, racist-wordy man.

Bob Arum had announced that a few days ago. And perhaps more details are already out on the news. The trilogy was Marquez’ request rematch for the match-up with the fighting congressman after the 2004 controversial draw and another match which won by Pacman in a nail-biter.

So, are we seeing a good fight in between. Definitely. Let’s get ready to rumble!

When you were a kid during the previous three decades, you may have noticed that in some TV channels, talk shows are their specialty. The content simply comprised of commentary, information, and spiels. Just pure talk.

Perhaps, at present era where soap operas eventually became the icons of primetime television, there are few programs that still stand for the type of the old style. And one of them turned out to be my favorite in Tayuan Mo! At Panindigan.

It’s been a month since I officially ended my life as a student. Okay, no more lessons, exams, classmates, professors, or what-so-ever. However, graduation also signified the start of new life as either a professional or a bum. That’s why they called that ceremony as “commencement exercises.”

Nah, I’ll compare my usual schedule of life being a schoolman to now being a laid-ass. It usually starts with this kind. As early as 6 am is my wake–up call and by 7:45 in the morning, I should’ve left the school for my classes. From then, I’ll have some 45 minutes of travel time, which barely means that I’ll come on time. Or if worst-case scenario happens, it extends to an hour. (Thanks to those shits! I’m late again even if there’s some grace period) So, from 8:30 am, I have two 90-minute classes all the way before noontime. Then I’ll have some lunch with my classmates and friends and by afternoon I’ll just hanging around at my friend’s dorm with his barkada and his laptop, digging news, social networking on the internet as a side dish to my new hobby, which is photo-enhancing. I can’t call that photo editing yet since I’m not that skilled and not even had that as my profession. That goes all the way until 9 in the evening. By then, I’ll leave the place, go home and before 10 in the evening, I’ll have my dinner and watch television as my nightcap. Sleeping time is usually set to 11 p.m.

Now, forward to present, I used to wake up at 7 a.m. Since then, I’ll just drink coffee, wash up, took a bath and hit the court since I barely missed playing basketball. Later that day will be breakfast and cleaning the mess (okay, I mean household chores. I do for sometimes mopping the floor and scrubbing the yard. Most of it was scrubbing, washing dishes, and anything goes.) By noontime I’ll have lunch, watch newscast programs, and rest. If I’m still awake for the moment I’ll dig the desktop and do what I want, though most of them were just photo-editing and video-tripping. Otherwise, I’m definitely sleeping then. By late afternoon, I’ll hit the internet and check my e-mail (though it usually goes for like once in every 4 days) and by nighttime, watching basketball games on the summer league and late night programs on TV by 10pm. Sleeping time is like the same thing as me being a student. 12 midnight.

Nah, I can’t really tell what’s the difference of these vacations. Except for the fact that this one’s longer and had no definite length unless you apply for a job right now and get hired right away. But one thing is for sure. It’s not easy to be like one anyway, you’re gonna get stuck to somewhere else (or if you’re introvert, at home) doing the usual things until you eventually get lazy and sick of it. You’re resources slowly emptied up and you can’t do anything to recover unless you have a very thick face or like I said earlier, got a piece of luck on finding a job.

Though one thing is for sure enough: If you’re one hell professional bum, just make sure you really got the profession out of it. Relaxation is not bad, but too much of it can definitely lead you to laziness types of shit. Good luck!
