Flick Review: The Fast and the Furious 8

05/14/2017 02:44:50 PM

Just when you thought this film franchise has already reached its abrupt ending because of a sudden death (literally) of a main character 3 ½ years ago,  we were wrong. Life goes on even after filming the missing piece of Fast and Furious 7 in 2015.

In fact, it endorsed a strange-but-already-a-foreseeable twist of Dominic Torretto turning back on his “family” for almost the entire stretch of the story in Fast and Furious 8 that was staged nearly nine weeks ago.

While the plot turned out to be a merely so-and-so, the action retains their artistry on delivering action-packed scenes. Perhaps the hype still made it watchable for almost everyone, especially those who has been their cult follower for so long.

It was still made laughs even more when The Rock Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham engaged themselves in a series of verbal tussles prior to getting their respective shits together in a crusade that involves confronting a very familiar character – a very nonconforming and compromising position to deal at all.

Save yourself from the downfalls of expecting too high. This film just resembled of those usual high-octane chases in those usual round-character-paced (of “turning back”). The Fast and the Furious 8 has tried to reached its level of furiousness but has got wound up adding bits of spectacular but less than projected.

Verdict: 7.1
