The Scene Around: LRT 1 Soundtrack

12/06/2016 11:26:23 PM

It was a rare thing to see musicians share their craft in front of the riding public for free. We have seen them before with Rock Da Riles, a project by RockEd Philippines and their stage usually situated at selected stations around the Metro Rail Transit Line 3.

This year, though, witnessed another similar emergence, with some of the upcoming bands from the indie scene perform in a random Friday afternoon at the Doroteo Jose station of Light Rail Tranist (LRT) Line 1 in Manila.

Dubbed as LRT 1 Soundtrack, LRMC and PHAR waged the program for the second time this past Friday, 2 December 2016, with three musicians perform in front of the passengers and bystanders inside LRT 1 D. Jose Station.

And that includes bands CHNDTR and The Subspring; with the former gaining a crowd of youngsters who probably were studying along the University Belt, and thanks to the exposure they got from One Big Family Productions.

The Subspring, on the other hand, is one of the bands you should be checking on. These three kids from the South are playing basement rock and are a heck of a promise.

And the acoustic duo Ken and Bernadette gracing the show with a self comprising of their covers. A chillax way to hit the Friday rush hour. At least, much to the delight of listeners.

While the crowd was more solid last Friday, expect the upcoming Soundcheck to be a heck of a good one, with the kuneho rockers BennyBunnyBand and the all-girl ROGUE performing live at LRT 1 D. Jose Station, Manila.

This is gonna be a promising heck of a show.
