The Scene Around: Kings Of The North

10/06/2016 07:35:07 PM

We Are The Underdogs Productions has stormed up North as they staged their WAT UP MIX #4 gig called Kings of The North at Exile on Main Street in Katipunan Avenue, Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

Burn Mercado, The Slicks, Ian Penn, BennyBunnyBand, Carousel Casualties, At The Moment, and MilesExperience performed in an acoustic-filled evening; much better to chill on a Saturday night.

I think it was then my first time to hear Ian Penn live (well, if I'm not mistaken). I must say I am impressed with this guy, especially he's on the verge of completing his upcoming recording called Water From The Creek.

And this was actually a rare time where bands like BennyBunnyBand and MilesExperience do a stripped-down set of their own. Initially, it was only billed as Miles Bondoc going solo for the night. But then, after doing so in the early part of his set, there goes the five-men soul-blues-jazz band taking it slow in such one of their memorable gigs to date.
