It was barely a year ago when I traveled to Alabang, Muntinlupa City for a writing workshop. Well, much to my surprise. One of the event organizers invited me to go there despite having some personal shenanigans earlier that day.
That was also my first time to travel to the southern part of the metro alone, as bloggers Health Junkie and Not Your Ordinary Mum teamed up to organize a workshop intended for feature writing, and it's all held inside the Hog's Breath Cafe in Festival Supermall, Alabang.
And really, it's fun to walk along the Ayala Alabang area despite the stormy weather; just exploring the whereabouts of the vicinity. Seriously, it's been like more than one decade and a half since the very last time I stepped foot at one of these places. Heck, South Superhighway wasn't even that wide yet.
And just when I thought I was late for the event, I am barely wrong. Millie Manahan and Tonette Nicolas welcomed me there and off I had a seat with fellow participants with pens sponsored by Faber Castell and some of the delectable food from the venue itself. South Snippets also took part in making this event possible.
Irene Enriquez talked about finding your unique blogging voice, while Angeline Rodriguez, the Managing Editor of When In Manila shared her journey of her writing career and gave several 101s on how to land a writing gig.
Also, one of the popular veterans Azrael Coladilla also shared his journey as a blogger, and also gave tops on how to lure sponsoring brands to your website.
The event was quite small in terms of participants, but considered a success with all of us enjoying the discussions, insights, plus the food, despite the rainy Saturday afternoon.
And it's funny but a heck of an experience in finally meeting PopAzrael, one of the bloggers I looked upon to since getting involved in the blogging events scene.
