The Scene Around: Wet Fest 2

08/19/2016 12:30:46 AM

Homonym organized their second edition of their very successful Wet Fest in Palace Pool Club, a gig where independent music is served at one of the most elite hangout places in the metropolitan.

Dubbed as "Steady Swimmin' Sounds," Wet Fest 2 offers the best musical showcase to the popular pool club even if it's way past the Summer season.

DJ set from Quark Henares warmed up the afternoon part as people start to flock the venue to witness the goodness of the up-and-coming musicians in Manila. Also, T-Mac did the spins with tunes during the outing as well as Jessica Milner for the evening spot.

Sixx, a band by Julian Savvard, kicked off the band-sets for Wet Fest 2; while MilesExperience, Moonwlk, and Sud wooed the crowd despite the rainy afternoon.

Ang Bandang Shirley, Wilderness, and Conscious And The Goodness hit the stage in their respective times to keep the music going at the evening.

As I see it, this event, despite having an average crowd, deemed success to say the least. It's not easy to bring heavyweight shits like Msex, Sud, and Ang Bandang Shirley and perform in front of the sizable crowd inside Palace Pool Club. It was a different set-up that followed-up its success last April 30. I have to admire what Mike Constantino has been up to when he put up Homonym and stage Wet Fest.

This was actually the time I heard Sixx and Moonwlk for the first time and was very impressed by the latter's full-band set-up. Also, first to hear Wilderness that up-close; and it was damn, that was helluva good! It's been a long whole sine the last time I hear such kind.

P.S. Special thanks to Vandals On The Wall for the opportunity to watch Wet Fest 2.
