How about an awesome way to end a month? Like spending a night out with good music, and the rest is definitely a noise you will like for the rest of your respective lives?
Talk about Indie Manila and Vandals on the Walls’ collaboration titled The Rest is Noise, held the last Friday and Saturday of February 2015. Yours truly, though, dropped by on its second leg held Saturday evening (February 28, 2015) at Route 196 in Blue Ridge, Quezon City.
For about six hours, it was a indeed noise-worthy night as the gig comprised eleven acts, with the popular Farewell Fair Weather gracing the kickstart chores.
Also, MilesExperience, Sud, CRWN, Jensen and the Flips performed during the evening; plus the Davao-based musicians Skymarines and Thea Pitogo strutting their stuff as part of the lineup.
Lions and Acrobats, though, did the closing part to formally end The Rest is Noise.
Despite missing the first night of this event, I think The Rest is Noise was as just spectacular as it is. Look, eleven performers – with two of them coming from the Southern part of the country to offer the best of their craft. Seeing them emerge here in the nation’s capital was already a big, bold move for them.
To say the least, it was a successful event, especially despite starting late (as far as I remember, it was around 9:45 or 50-ish in the evening), fans inside the venue was indeed treated for a night. From soloists, to instrumentalists, to alternative rockers, and even an indie version of EDM. Talk about variety of genres and choices.
Good thing, being an early bird really pays off. Haha! I came there around eight in the evening and witnessed the entirety of the gig from start to finish. It was a pleasure meeting the top guys Bel (Indie Manila) and Ian (Vandals on the Wall).
Say, we should give props to these guys; as well as the other independent producers Green Apple Productions and Docdef Productions, too! There’s no doubt of ‘competition’ when it comes to the things like this. I mean, even if a lot of indie bands were managed by different groups, they share and collaborate with each other. Ain’t that pleasing right there?
Meantime, I’ll be back in the scene – at least, dropping by and hearing good music – soon!
