Let me reiterate: this is sole my opinion alone, and not a reflection of views from any wrestling affiliations I belonged with. Yes, after all, I don’t consider myself a total smark, but an avid follower.
The arrangement of the matches listed in this article were chronologically, and not on a countdown-like basis. All matches were held on their Pay Per View (PPV) events.
For every WWE pay-per-view event, there were at least one, two, or few more cards which deserved this type of chant.
Hereby are the last of my part two series regarding my take on the best matches made in the World Wrestling Entertainment for 2014.
And they meet again, which a much body-wearing-yet-highly-entertaining stipulation: two out of three falls. It’s like doing an ordinary version of three stages of hell match. And the fact that the impact of their match remained same as they were on MITB, you can never deny these words: it was indeed awesome!
The Verdict: 9.2
These two delivered once again, despite the stunning interference of Bray Wyatt – which triggered another rivalry in the current storyline. It’s like a mixture of Extreme Rules, Hell in a Cell, and even TLC matches alone.
Seriously, this HIAC battle looked like a mere mixture of those no-hold barred type of matches, where Mr. MITB and the Lunatic Fringe went beyond expectations to salvage the evening were half of the cards were good while the other… bullish.
This match just rejuvenated the entire traditional Survivor Series match. This is what a typical SS should look: instant KO, turning backs, overcoming the conspiracy theory-driven numbers game, interference and counter interference, plus the “RIP Spanish Announce Table” moment, and of course, the loud chants, not just “This is Awesome!” and “Holy shit!”

The Verdict: 9.2
Lumberjack Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (SummerSlam)
It was during the WWE’s summer flagship program when two former SHIELD members colliding on each other, and… with a bunch of lumberjacks from their locker room. And even if the roster’s presence surrounds the ring, these tow put up a fight… nearly around the Staples Center!
Dean almost stole the show by stealing Seth Rollins’ curb stomp, but after a free-for-all among the lumberjacks, it was the Mr. Money in the Bank whom emerged victorious with a slammed briefcase on the head of the Lunatic Fringe.

The Verdict: 8.8
Sheamus vs. Cesaro for the United States Championship (Night of Champions)
I thought Cena versus Lesnar rematch was way better, until I realized “no.” Something’s way better than that: and it’s then US champ Sheamus taking on his challenger Cesaro. Both men were notable fightersat their own right; and I think Cesaro’s performance during the match was awesome though not enough to alleviate his dwindling status as an overall performer for 2014. He won a big match at WrestleMania only to find himself ineffective as a heel (plus being a Paul Heyman guy) later on.
Still, you can’t discount him right there.

Plus, Sheamus, though not battling on a street fight match, was just epic as shit.
The Verdict: 8.1

And I think Dolph Ziggler got a huge push right there to be at the top of the game once again.
The Verdict: 8.7
Luke Harper vs. Dolph Ziggler (TLC)
Perhaps it’s too early to start the WWE’s version of Demolition Derby with a ladders match; but knowing both Ziggler and Harper? I would have thought they should be somewhere between the midcard and the main event level. But, kicking off the show? Perhaps something to hype the Q more than LeBron’s act of tossing powder in the air, eh?

It went beyond extremities, though, with Harper being the more brutal guy (of course, that’s the heel’s job).
But that superkick sealed his fate, and the native guy Dolph had a perfect Christmas gift – an intercontinental championship!
